MITA 2026 platform
Terms and conditions of use
The French version of these terms is the legally binding one.
Article 1 – Purpose
These Terms and Conditions of Use (the "Terms") set out the conditions of access to and use of the digital platform dedicated to the Agricultural Innovations and Technologies Marketplace – MITA 2026, organized by the West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development (CORAF).
MITA is a regional forum for promoting, showcasing and connecting agricultural technologies and innovations in West and Central Africa. The 2026 edition will be held from 19 to 23 October 2026 in Freetown, Sierra Leone, under the theme "Technologies and innovations for animal production and integrated crop–livestock–aquaculture systems".
The MITA 2026 platform is intended in particular to allow users to:
- consult information relating to MITA 2026;
- create and manage their registration;
- provide their personal and professional details;
- select their participation category;
- pay the registration fee where applicable;
- receive a registration confirmation and practical information about their participation;
- access information on the program, technologies, exhibitors, speakers and activities of MITA;
- enable CORAF to handle the administrative, logistical and statistical management of participants.
Use of the platform implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Use.
Article 2 – Conditions of access and registration
Access to the public content of the platform is free. Certain features, in particular registration for MITA 2026, may require the creation of an account or the provision of personal information.
Users undertake to provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information. They remain responsible for the accuracy of the information supplied when registering.
CORAF reserves the right to request additional information or supporting documents where these are necessary to validate a registration category, a sponsorship or a specific form of participation.
Article 3 – Participant categories
Registration for MITA 2026 may be organized according to several categories of participant, including:
sponsored participants, institutional/invited participants, selected technology holders and innovators, delegations, partners, researchers, companies and private sector stakeholders, exhibitors, media, as well as self-funded participants (SELF).
Financial conditions and participation arrangements may vary depending on the category selected.
The official MITA 2026 call provides in particular that the holder of a selected technology or innovation receives CORAF support for their participation in MITA.
Article 4 – Registration fees and payment
Certain categories of participant may be subject to payment of a registration fee.
Where payment is required, the applicable amount is shown on the platform before the registration is finally confirmed.
Payment may be made using the payment methods offered on the platform.
Any validated transaction may give rise to a payment confirmation or an electronic receipt.
CORAF cannot be held liable for a failed transaction attributable to the bank, the payment operator, the telecommunications network or an external provider.
Amounts, cancellation conditions, registration transfers and refund arrangements are to be set out in the Terms and Conditions of Sale or in a dedicated financial section before payments open.
The printed registration badge constitutes in itself the material proof that the MITA 2026 registration service has been provided by CORAF. Once a badge has been issued in the participant’s name, the service is deemed to have been rendered, whether or not the participant actually attends the forum.
Accordingly, no refund may be claimed on the grounds that the participant did not attend the event, once their badge has been printed and their registration validated in accordance with these Terms.
Article 5 – Registration confirmation
A registration is considered definitively validated only once the conditions applicable to the category concerned have been met and an official confirmation has been received.
For participants subject to a registration fee, validation may be conditional on payment confirmation.
Registering on the platform does not automatically guarantee financial support, accommodation, transport, a visa or an air ticket, unless expressly confirmed by CORAF.
Article 6 – Acceptable use of the platform
Users undertake to use the platform solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with the objectives of MITA.
In particular, it is prohibited to:
- provide false information;
- impersonate another person;
- attempt to gain fraudulent access to other users' accounts or data;
- disrupt the operation of the platform;
- introduce malicious programs, files or code;
- use information available on the platform for fraudulent or unauthorised purposes.
CORAF reserves the right to suspend or withdraw access in the event of abusive or fraudulent use.
Article 7 – Personal data
As part of the registration process, CORAF may collect information such as: surname and first name, gender, age range, nationality, country of residence, organization, position, email address, telephone number, participation category and information required for payment or logistical arrangements.
This information is collected in particular to:
- manage registrations;
- communicate with participants;
- prepare hosting and logistics;
- handle payments where necessary;
- produce statistics on participation;
- monitor and evaluate the event.
A separate Privacy Policy is to specify the legal bases for processing, retention periods, data recipients, the rights of data subjects and the contact details for exercising those rights.
Article 8 – Images, photographs and audiovisual content
As MITA is an institutional and public event, photographs, videos and audiovisual recordings may be made during its activities.
The arrangements for informing participants and, where necessary, obtaining their consent regarding the use of their image are to be specified in accordance with the applicable legal framework.
Visible notices may also be provided at registration and at the event venue.
Article 9 – Intellectual property
The texts, logos, photographs, videos, graphic elements, documents and other content published on the MITA platform are protected by the applicable intellectual property rules.
Unless prior authorisation is given, their reproduction, modification or commercial exploitation is prohibited.
Rights relating to the technologies and innovations presented at MITA remain those of their respective owners or holders, subject to the communication permissions granted to CORAF.
Article 10 – Program and organization of the event
CORAF reserves the right to make changes to the program, timings, speakers, activities, organizational arrangements or certain services offered where circumstances require.
Updated information will be communicated through the official MITA and/or CORAF channels.
Article 11 – Liability
CORAF employs reasonable means to ensure the proper functioning of the platform.
However, it cannot guarantee permanent, uninterrupted availability of the service, in particular in the event of maintenance, breakdown, technical failure, network problems or events beyond its control.
Users remain responsible for their own equipment, internet connection and the confidentiality of their credentials.
Article 12 – Third-party links and services
The platform may integrate or link to services provided by third parties, in particular payment systems, mapping services, audiovisual platforms or other digital services.
Use of these services may be subject to the terms of their respective operators.
Article 13 – Amendments to the Terms
CORAF reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions of Use to reflect changes to the platform, the organization of MITA or applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The applicable version is the one published on the platform at the time of use.
