The Agricultural Innovations and Technologies Marketplace (MITA) is the flagship event promoting agricultural research and innovation in West and Central Africa. Organized by CORAF from 19 to 23 October 2026 in Freetown, Sierra Leone, this edition focuses on the theme: Facilitating access to technologies and innovations for animal production and integrated crop-livestock-aquaculture systems.
MITA is a platform bringing together researchers, innovators, private and public sector stakeholders and end users, fostering knowledge exchange, the demonstration of proven technologies and the creation of partnerships. MITA 2026 aims to address Africa's food security challenges by facilitating access to, dissemination of and exchange of technologies and innovations across the region.

The technologies featured at MITA 2026
MITA 2026 showcases agricultural technologies and innovations dedicated to animal production as well as integrated crop-livestock-aquaculture systems.
These innovative solutions address needs across every link of the agricultural value chains, including production, post-harvest, processing, mechanisation, marketing and integrated landscape management.
Priority is given to proven technologies that are ready for adoption by end users. Special distinctions will be awarded to the best technologies meeting these criteria.

Day 1
Official opening and innovations for animal production.
The first day of MITA 2026 is devoted to the official opening, a tour of the exhibition areas and a high-level ministerial panel. It continues with the presentation of innovative technologies for animal feed, health and breeding.

CORAF is organizing the third edition of the Abdoulaye Touré Agricultural Innovation Award. It will recognize researchers, inventors, research institutions and private companies whose innovations have had a measurable impact on agricultural systems in West and Central Africa. Three categories:
- Agricultural innovations to address low agricultural production and productivity
- Agricultural innovations to mitigate growing climate risks
- Agricultural innovations for adequate and sustainable agricultural finance and trade
